If you are planning to trek to EBC, you must know the best time to trek to Everest Base Camp. Well, shortly, it’s in Autumn or Spring. Now that I said Autumn or Spring, you might ask why. Through this blog, we will let you know why Autumn or Spring is the best season.

While most trekkers head to Everest Base Camp in Spring or Autumn, a few trekkers do visit Everest Base Camp in Winter. But we do not recommend doing a trek in winter or rainy seasons.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp in Spring

Early March to Late May is considered the best time to trek to EBC. The weather remains balmy and offers good visibility. Rhododendron adorns the trekking trail under the clear skies. There is less chance of rain, and the temperate remains fairly moderate.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp in Autumn

Late September to November offers the best views of the Himalayas and is the best time to trek to Everest Base Camp. The majority of trekkers trek in Autumn to admire amazing views of the mountains. The favorable weather and fair temperature are the main reasons why many trekkers prefer to travel in Autumn.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp in Winter

From November to January, the Everest region remains coldest. The temperature during the daytime is comfortable, but at night, it can drop to -30 degrees Celcius. Cold temperature, snowfalls, and winds are among the main reasons why it is not the ideal time to trek to EBC in winter. 

Trekking to Everest Base Camp in Monsoon

Very few trekkers head to Everest Base Camp during Moonsoon. Mud, rain, leeches, and wet weather is unfavorable for a journey to EBC. In addition to it, there is a risk of landscape and avalanche. You may not be able to marvel at the spectacular mountains as the rainclouds shroud the mountains. The bad weather leads to frequent cancellation of the flight to Lukla. And hence, Monsoon is not the ideal season to trek to EBC.
